Galapagos
is applying its functional screening program to the
discovery of novel drugable targets in Alzheimer’s
disease (AD).
We have developed primary and secondary assays in human
cell lines that measure neuronal secretion of Aβ1-42,
the primary lesion in AD. SilenceSelect and FLeXSelect
are screened in this assay to identify drugable targets
that inhibit production of Aβ1-42.These hits are
then validated through a selection of secondary validation
assays, in order to select a final set of high value
novel drugable AD targets for compound screening.
Targets
discovered in the Alzheimer’s program are available
for licensing. Please contact Galapagos
business development for more information.
